<\/p>

The Bregenzerwald, a mountain region in Vorarlberg, Austria, has several interesting peaks that offer great views. The Hoher Ifen, which is on the border between Austria and Germany, is one of these. The Diedamskopf, which is a neighbour of the Hoher Ifen, is another. Although it is a little lower than the Hoher Ifen, the fact that it is isolated from the surrounding peaks means that it offers some great views.<\/p>

A cable car takes you from Schoppernau to the vicinity of the summit. From the arrival station, it is only a short climb of 70 metres to the actual summit. The easy access means that you are not alone, but if you move away from the summit and the arrival station, you will find that it is quieter. Nevertheless, despite the number of visitors, a visit to the summit is highly recommended.<\/p>

We started at the arrival station and went to the summit to enjoy the view. On the way down, we took a different path, which means that we could make a small loop from the arrival station. To continue down from the arrival station, we followed the path along the rocks that overlook Oberfellealpe. This means that you can continue to enjoy the great views, while at the same time moving away from the popular paths. As you continue along the rocks, one reaches a small pass that leads to a marshy plateau, which one crosses a little further on. There are some surprising rock outcrops along the path: shale that one think will be very grippy, but which in fact is very slippery.<\/p>

After crossing the small plateau, we climbed up to the Neuhornbachjoch, a pass between the Falzerkopf and the Kreuzmandl. From the pass, all you must do is follow the ridge to reach the summit of the Falzerkopf. The ridge is quite steep in places, especially just below the summit. From the summit, we went down towards Breitenalpe and followed a path along the hillside to the intermediate station of the chairlift.<\/p>
