Vor langer Zeit hatte ich vom Wasserfall (und der nahegelegenen Grotte) von M\u00f4tiers geh\u00f6rt, aber ich hatte keine Gelegenheit, mir diesen Ort aus der N\u00e4he anzusehen (oder ich hatte mir keine Zeit genommen). An diesem Tag wollte ich eine Wanderung machen, die nicht zu lang war, aber genug, um das Gef\u00fchl zu haben, etwas unternommen zu haben. Und in diesem Moment erinnerte ich mich an dieses Ziel.<\/p>

M\u00f4tiers ist ein wundersch\u00f6nes Dorf, in dem man einige bemerkenswerte alte H\u00e4user findet. Erw\u00e4hnenswert ist unter anderem die Auberge de Six-Communes mit ihrem \u00fcberraschenden Schild mit der Aufschrift “Hier \u00fcbernachtet man\u2026 zu Fuss\u2026 zu Pferd”. Erw\u00e4hnenswert ist auch das Haus, in dem Jean-Jacques Rousseau untergebracht war, bevor er \u00fcberst\u00fcrzt aus dem Dorf fliehen musste.<\/p>

Der Weg zum Wasserfall und zur Grotte de M\u00f4tiers ist derselbe der zur Schlucht von Po\u00ebtta Raisse f\u00fchrt. Vom Dorfzentrum aus geht man in die Strasse, in der sich das Absinthmuseum und das Haus befindet, in dem Rousseau untergebracht war. Dann kommt man in die N\u00e4he einer Klause, die durch eine Panzersperre aus dem letzten Weltkrieg verschlossen ist. Vor dieser Sperre trennt sich der Weg zum Wasserfall von dieser der Po\u00ebtta Raisse. Man folgt links einem Pfad entlang des Bied de M\u00f4tiers. Man kommt dann nicht weit an einen Quellaustritt vorbei, der das Bied speist. In der N\u00e4he dieser Quellaustritt \u00fcberquert man das Bied \u00fcber eine kleine Br\u00fccke und geht steil hinauf in den Wald, um den Fuss des Wasserfalls zu erreichen. \u00dcber eine kleine Br\u00fccke gelangt man nach links zur Grotte de M\u00f4tiers. Leider konnte ich wegen der Wassermenge nicht weiter bei Besichtigung gehen: Daf\u00fcr h\u00e4tte ich mir die F\u00fcsse ordentlich nass machen m\u00fcssen.<\/p>

Nach dem Wasserfall f\u00fchrt ein guter Pfad durch den Wald hinauf obehalb des Wasserfalls. Eine sch\u00f6ne kleine Br\u00fccke (die Riau-Passerelle), \u00fcber die man den Bach direkt oberhalb des Wasserfalls \u00fcberqueren kann. Der Aussichtspunkt ist einen Besuch wert.<\/p>

Anstatt wieder zur\u00fcckzuwandern, gingen wir weiter in Richtung Vers-chez-Pillot, einem Bauernhof, der sich auf dem Gebiet des Kantons Waadt befindet. Von dort aus muss man einem Teil der Strasse folgen, die in der sch\u00f6nen Jahreszeit viel befahren sein muss, da sie nach Mauborget oder in die Provence f\u00fchrt. Von Couvent f\u00fchrt ein steiler Abstieg nach Couvet.<\/p>

Dann muss man nur noch der Areuse zu folgen, um zum Ausgangspunkt zur\u00fcckzukehren.<\/p>
